For two decades, we have dedicated ourselves to preserving, teaching, and sharing the authentic traditions of Lithuanian pirtis with the world.
Our Story
The Lithuanian Bath Academy was founded in 2004 by a group of passionate practitioners who recognized that traditional pirtis knowledge was at risk of being lost to modernization.
What began as informal gatherings to share techniques has grown into the premier institution for pirtis education in the Baltics. We have trained thousands of students from Lithuania and beyond, creating a network of certified pirtininkai (bath masters) who carry forward authentic traditions.
In 2020, our decades of documentation, advocacy, and teaching contributed to the inscription of Lithuanian pirtis traditions in the National Register of Intangible Cultural Heritage — a milestone that validates our mission and energizes our future work.
